Faridah Nakazibwe, Kaggwa Njala Roasted For Defying Social Distance Directives By M7
In attempt to slow down the spread of Corona Virus in Uganda, president Museveni banned all public gatherings.
However, many Ugandans have been jogging in groups along tmajor routes in the suburbs of Kampala. Some are trying to exercise while others are trying to kill the boredom.
Media personalities Faridah Nakazibwe and Simon Kaggwa Njala are among the people that have been heavily criticized for failing to act as examples to their followers after refusing to adhere to social distancing guidelines.
Last week, Kaggwa posted a picture having a haircut at home. He had contacted his barber who allowed to offer a home service. Kaggwa went ahead to share his number with his followers saying that the barber was ready for more jobs.
This didn’t go well with many of his followers who accused him of being careless, putting the lives of his family at risk.
Njala later deleted the post and apologized saying that,“It wasn't prudent of me to seek services of a door to door barber and moreso publicize him. After thinking critically and internalizing your concerns, I boldly regret the action. Even though I took the guy thru all the rigors of sanitizing, it's wrong.”
While the dust was settling, Faridah Nakazibwe posted a picture with her children exercising along the streets.
She captioned it, “My babies and I joined the bandwagon today in the Naalya neighbourhood . It was much fun. #sorrycorona.”
Many questioned her for being a careless mother and failing to understand Museveni's directive of keeping a distance of 4 metres.
