Lukwago Forcefully Re-opens office today
Controversial Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago has promised to re-open his office at city hall this morning for a cleaning exercise to start ahead of his swearing in ceremony.
Lukwago who was to be sworn in on Friday 20th May only for the ceremony to be postponed to June 1st, says the Kampala capital city authority has run out of time to sit and pass a budget that is expected in the month of June.
He told the media in Kampala yesterday, that he had planned to spend a week on dusting his office, re-organizing it, and replacing the furniture, only if he had been sworn in on May 20th, but now, he cannot wait any more.
“We have taken a decision; we are not going to wait for the swearing in ceremony to re-open the office of the Lord Mayor as it were earlier on arranged. We have been constrained by circumstances to revisit it and it has been changed,” Lukwago told the media.
Lukwago added that; “The decision taken by my office, tomorrow (today Wednesday), at exactly 10:00am, my staff will proceed to city hall, to the Lord Mayor’s parlor and re-open the office, given the circumstances we are operating in.”
The cry-baby mayor claims to have run out of patience, and he cannot wait any longer.
