Wife, Husband Kidnapped in Hoima, Police Arrests 3 Suspects
The police in Hoima District have arrested Amisi Kwezi, the LC I Chairperson of Kigorobya II Cell in South East Ward in Kigorobya town council together with three other suspects in connection to the alleged kidnap and disappearance of a 23-year-old woman.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine Region Police spokesperson says they have withheld the identities of the three other suspects for fear of jeopardizing their investigations.
According to Hakiza, the suspects are accused of kidnapping Sauya Alinaitwe, a resident of Kijongo LCI Kijongo parish in Kijongo Sub County.
The victim is a wife to Silver Kuniihira. She reportedly disappeared at the beginning of September and has never been seen again.
Several radio announcements were made by the family asking people with information of her whereabouts to show up in vain, however, things became worse when her husband also vanished to unknown destination.
Hakiza adds that there are reports that Alinaitwe could have been kidnapped and killed and her body secretly buried.
Police is now hunting for Alinaitwe’s husband.
