Trouble in paradise; Yumbe NRM Leaders will not meet Museveni in Nebbi
President Yoweri Museveni will face it rough when he shows up for a meeting with National Resistance Movement party Leaders in Yumbe District after they refused to meet in Nebbi.
The meeting slated for tomorrow Saturday in Nebbi district is to be snubbed by NRM and district leaders from Yumbe and Koboko who the President was supposed to speak with.
The president is on a tour of the country, and will be moving to Arua and later Adjumani on Monday.
Now, in a meeting of Yumbe NRM leaders and supporters on Thursday, the leaders unanimously resolved that they will not travel to Nebbi to meet the President.
They want the President to meet them separately in Yumbe.
The NRM Chairman Yumbe Amin Aniku says with all the support they have given to the President and NRM party, they have demands they want to present to Museveni.
Richard Andama the Resident District Commissioner Yumbe says that he will try to persuade the leaders to travel to Nebbi.
The leaders also hope to present the issue of tarmacking of the Koboko Yumbe and Arua-Yumbe roads, compensation of landlords who gave their chunks of land to host refugees in Bidi Bidi Camp in Yumbe district among other issues.
