Bobi Wine Withdraws Support For Jose Chameleone
Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine recently launched National Unity Platform (NUP) party , a political wing of his pressure group, the People Power movement.
He has now come out to confirm that the party will only endorse candidates who belong to NUP.
Political aspirants like Jose Chameleone who earlier aligned with People Power might not be supported because he belongs to Democratic Party (DP).
Talking about the party's decision, Bobi Wine said that the laws of Uganda allow each person to be in a single political party or formation. You can't be in both Democratic party and National Unity Platform.
"I call upon all those who picked People Power nominations forms to decide, you either be in National Unity Platform or you are not with us. The laws of Uganda are clear, they don't allow any one to be in two political parties," he said.
Chameleone is the current chief mobiliser for Democratic party. If he still needs Bobi Wine's support, he has to ditch his party.
