Man arrested for attempting to kill wife and step son in a fire
Police in Bulenga in Wakiso district have arrested one Moses Saali, a resident of Bugonya-Bulenga B for attempting to burn his wife and stepson alive on suspicion of infidelity.
According Luke Owoyesigyire Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson, the suspect locked up his wife only identified as Nansamba and his stepson Umaru Kasibante inside the house and torched it.
Detectives heard that the suspect torched the house on Wednesday when he returned home and heard voices inside, which made him, suspect his wife of cheating on him with another man.
After starting the house, the suspect took off from the scene.
However, when residents broke into the house, they only found Nansamba with her son, Kasibante who had paid her a visit. The duo was rushed to Kiruddu Hospital where they are nursing burns.
Police arrested the suspect and is in custody at Bulenga police station on charges of attempted murder and arson as the investigations into the matter continue.
The incident comes days after another man in wiling zone-Kansanga in Makindye division, locked his two children and wife inside the house and torched it following a heated disagreement. The wife had accused him of repeated infidelity.
