Biography

Born Kakooza michael on 14th/11/1981 in afamily of 14,michael started singing at the age of 11 in high school in a group of 4young boys called BOYZ IN RYTHM . However the group disbanded when most of its members joined different boarding schools except for michael who continued with his passion performing in high school talent shows as adancer.

Michael found fame early around town and among high school teens while in college as "THE USHER of uganda" miming and dancing to the songs of his idol Usher Raymond.At 19 years of age michael ross decided to take his dream alot more serious and sought the help of then Ace producer Steve Jean and together they made magic in the form of Señorita.

The song was among 2002's biggest and it got Michael Ross more recognition and an award in the first ever Pam Awards{pearl of africa music awards} for best RnB song of the year in 2003.michael followed up with number of hot rnb hits like How do you love somebody,Yo the one,Its over now all which earned him nominations in the 2004,2005 and 2006 Pam awards respectively. Michael dropped his debut album Yo the one to much critical acclaim.

2007 turned out to be Michael Ross's turning point in his career because as an english rnb singer in predominantly luganda industry,critics felt he still needed to switch his style up abit and sing in luganda to capture the luganda speaking audience.Which he did hence the smash hit Yooyo which got him nominations in the 2007 Pam Awards and Kenya's Kisiima Awards respectively.

Michael ross went on to belt out more hits like Nalulungi,Nkwetaga,the hit collaboration with Navio entitled Tell me which won him aBuzz teens award for flyest video of the year 2009.2010 saw michael ross conquer again with the release of Clothes Off,which got ample spins all over east africa and Mtv base.

Michael ross also spread his wings across africa when he was chosen to be among the panel of judges on the MGSD{Malta Guinness Street Dance}pan african competitions held in Ghana.

Uganda has seen a lot of rnb acts come up but none is more versatile and spontaneous like michael ross.He has been in the game for 10 years and he is still making hits for his adoring fans all over the world.michael has performed alongside international heavy weights like Tevin campbell,Shaggy,Tanya stevens,Joe thomas,p-square and sean kingston.

He has also toured America,UK,Denmark,Norway and Sweden.Michael is currently in studio working on his second album titled UNSTOPPABLE which will drop late this year.the album already boasts of hits like Dream girl,Clothes off,and the infectious "Follow" which is currently burning up diasporan clubs in Uuganda,UK,Rwanda,Burundi,Tanzania and America.
